Successful Equias User Meeting 2019 in Vienna!

Last week the 16th edition of the Equias Annual User Meeting took place in Vienna. We welcomed over 130 of our clients to share information on the latest developments in the energy trading industry and on the solutions Equias offers.

This year’s conference theme was “Digitalization” and during the day what digitalization means in the context of the energy change, it’s transformative effect on energy sales businesses and the ever increasing amounts of data that, correctly harnessed, can provide insights to market participants were discussed. Among the speakers were David Trevallion, Regulation Assurance Manager at SSE, who presented on the topic of Trade Surveillance (eTM), and Joerg Reichelt from EnBW whose presentation focussed on Settlement matching (eSM).

The event was kicked off by Hugh Brunswick, Equias CEO, by presenting the new Equias house style. Equias has gone through a rebranding process in the last year and new branding was launched at the User Meeting.

During the day the audience were able to raise questions via their mobile devices and there was plenty of room for discussions during the breaks. As in previous years the day of the User Meeting finished with the Equias User Party taking place in a restaurant near the Danube in the evening.

Hugh Brunswick says about last weeks’ event “with over 700 clients the annual user group is a great opportunity for the industry to meet, exchange views and discuss the challenges and  changes to come – I can’t wait for next year!,” Liam Dunne, COO of Equias, adds  “it was great to see so many Equias clients engaging in really interesting discussions across the event.  It just shows how buoyant the energy trading industry is.”

Thank you all for your participation and we hope to see you in 2020!
